Sheath and Belt for a Naga Dao Axe Assam - 11080


We offer for sale these two beautiful pieces of tribal art from the Naga people of Assam, the hills of East India / Burma. These are sheaths and a belt for a Dao axe / Sword used by the Naga. The scabbards are wood with braided rattan bands on one and steel holders on the other. One of the scabbards has the original belt made of thick and decorated with many tiny river shells. The other is decorated with brass strips and carved black horns but the belt is missing. Scabbards are 11 X 4 inches. Length with the belt 28 inches. Very good condition. Few shells are missing from the belt.
