Palestinian / Jordanian Bedouin Dagger Shibriya - 11032


A typical mid 20C. good example of the Bedouin side dagger locally known as Shibriya. All men carry it and it is very popular between the Bedouin tribes residing in Israel and in Jordan. The blade is 6 inches, re-curving and double edged with an acute tip, engraved with a bird and styled Arabic inscription and. The grip as well as the scabbard are covered with chased white metal showing flowers and faces and set with colored stones (glass ?). The scabbard is set with a belt loop at the rear side. Total length 11 ½ inches. Very good condition.
