This is a very good Indo-Persian Hyde shield. The shield diameter is 20 ½ inches, 3 inches high. It is made of heavy Hyde (Buffalo ??) covered with black lacquer, with four pierced brass in the center and a lunette shape boss with two small ones at the top. Inner lether cushion plate with leather straps for the handle. Good condition. There are some cracks and small area of damage to the lacquer on the inner side. The hand cushion is cut and the lether straps are torn. One of the brass bosses is different from the other. May be a replaced one but very old replacement.
