As fine as it can get: This Persian Shamshir sword is of best quality. Wootz blade with good contrast pattern, signed with make mark and Baduh (magic square) with gold inlay. Original handle with finely pierced and gold inlaid cross guard and pommel cap, also forged from wootz steel, as well as the steel scabbard mounts with gold inlay. Blade 31 inches. Total length 36 ½. Very good condition. Minor edge nicks on the blade. Minor damage to the piercing on one side of the cross guard. Upper seam in the scabbard partially open.
