This Kard knife is Indian, probably North India, late 18 – early 19 C. Massive heavy blade 11 inches long, forged from fine wootz (Damascus, watered) steel, gold plated on the bolsters and decorated with gold koftgari inlay work on the spine and the handle. Steel handle, also forged from fine wootz steel. Total length 15 inches. Very good condition. Very minor forging flaws. Very minor losses to the gold plating. No scabbard.
