Up for sale is this early, 18C. or earlier, good “PIHA KAHETTA” the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). It has a single edged short heavy blade, 9 inches long with a clipped tip and heavy brass bolster. The grips are beautifully carved from ivory with dark, shining age patina. Total length is 12 ˝ inches. Very good condition. Blackened spots and minor patches of pitted areas. Pommel cover is missing.
