The Pedang Lurus is an Indonesian short sword, common in Java but can be found also in other Indonesian islands. The exemplar for sale here is a fine miniature of such a sword. Probably a valuable presentation to a high ranking person, early – mid 20 C. Blade is 7 ½ inches forged from good pamor steel. The hilt is silver chased in an elaborate design with the pamor styled in the face of a mythological creature. The scabbard is wood covered with silver sheet also chased in a very intricate design. Total length 12. inches. Very good condition.
