This dagger is Turkish. The blade and handle are of early form, 17 C. or about. Forged from Wootz steel rather narrow blade with a shallow fullered central rib and gold inlay koftgari work. Blade length 11 inches. Hardwood ribbed grip with chase silver pommel cover. Later made, 19 C. chased silver scabbard. Total length 17 inches. Very good condition. Minor blackened spots on the blade. Losses to the koftgari gold work on the blade.
