Fine and Early Arab Jambiya Dagger, Rhino Horn Grip, Mecca Style - 10853
This fine Arab Jambiya Dagger is known as Mecca style, with a silver scabbard and uprising scabbard tip. The blade is of fine quality, 7 1/2 inches long, double edge with a thick central rib. The grip is Solid Rhino horn with clear fibrous structure, set with silver filigree decoration and silver rosettes. The scabbard is a piece of arts on its own in heavy silver. Very good condition. Very dark age patina on the rhino horn grip. Good age patina on the blade and on all silver parts. The shape, quality of the blade and age patina suggests that this is an early dagger, probably early 19 C. or earlier. |
