Very Good Arab Saif Sword with Marked Blade - 10852

This Saif is a very rare version of Arab sword from the South Arabian Peninsula. A fine heavy sword, with a 29 ½ inches long single edge fullered blade with a 5 inches back edge. The blade is marked on the spine with what might be maker or owner name. The hilt and cross guard are whole silver in a typical form reminding in a way the hilt of the Moroccan Nimcha sword. The scabbard is wood covered with black leather with big silver locket and chape. Total length 37 inches. Very good condition. Minor blackened spots on the blade (but no pitting). Some losses to the leather. A fine piece.
