This very fine dagger is from India, 19C., probably from Bundi in Rajasthan. Finely forged blade, Wootz (Damascus, watered) steel with thickened tip . An elephant head is finely chiseled on the base of the blade. Steel handle richly decorated with gold inlay work. Leather scabbard with silver fittings. Blade length 8 ½ inches. Total 13 ½. Very good condition. A very fine dagger.
