A sword of the Fang people residing in the borders area of Gabon and Cameroon. Weapons of the Fang are somewhat different and they are much sought after. This one is old, probably mid 19th Century, 13 inches double edge blade with a flat central rib and lightly engraved at its upper part total length 23inches. Hardwood, cross-shaped hilt . Original scabbard (rare) with reptile skin . Very good condition.Some losses to the brass binding. Cracked scabbard.
