Very Fine and Rare Moghul Sword, India - 10678

This sword is coming from North India, Moghul period, 18 C. or about. The heavy fullered blade is single edged, 27 inches long, very slightly down curving, with a 7 ½ inches false edge. The blade is inlaid with the Moghul star in gold. The steel handle is in the shape of a horse head, with channels cut into the sides with free running steel balls inside (also known as Tears of the wounded). Newly made scabbard with velvet cover. Total length 33 ½ inches. Very good condition. Very rare and impressive sword. |
