Rare Saber /Sword from Bukhara, Uzbekistan - 6081
![](photos/items/34/000434/ph-0.jpg)
A classical example of a rare sword / saber from Uzbekistan of typical Bukharan style. The slightly curved 28 inches long blade is quite heavy, ¼ inch at its base. The grips are of beautifully grained hard wood, are in the general shape of that of a Pesh-Kabz dagger, also common in the central Asian countries. The hilt bolster and grip strap are silver. The wood scabbard is covered with black leather with steel tip and belt rings. The scabbard mouth is brass. Good condition. The hilt / grip may be later to the blade and so is the brass locket. Very minor blackened areas on the blade. One side of the scabbard chape is slightly dented. A very rare sword, at a reasonable price. |
