Very Good Syrian (Magdali) Jambiya Dagger - 10621
Classical Syrian Jambiya dagger, circa 1950, made in the Druze village of Magdal Shams (Tower of the sun) in the Golan Heights, the area of dispute between Israel and Syria. Curved short, 6 inches finely etched with Arabic inscription. The handle made from layers and mosaics pieces of horn, bone, mother of pearl and brass in intricate geometrical design. Engraved brass scabbard. Total length 10 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Very few inserts are missing on the handle. |
