Good Heavy Golok Style Machette / Knife from Java (TJIKOREH) - 10477


This short machete knife is from Indonesia. It was made in the village of TJIKOREH (CHIKOREA in the modern Indonesian spelling), famous in the production of edged weapons of various shapes. This one has the shape of a Golok knife with short and heavy blade, 9 inches long, finely engraved and signed TJIKR (most probably standing for TJIKOREH). The wood grip and scabbard are beautifully carved with a bird shaped pommel. The scabbard is bound with brass bands. Total length 17 inches. Good condition. Repairs and chips on the grip and scabbard mouth. The belt clip is missing.
