19 C. Rare French Navaja Knife by Girodias - 10386


This folding knife known also as Navaja. It was extensively used in France and Spain during the 18 and 19 Centuries to cut food as well as to settle personal accounts, and found as a man best companion still today. This one is French, 19 Century made by Girodias probably for the Spanish market. Blade signed and marked with the maker sign, 6 inches long with 3 ½ inches clipped tip. Handle of curling style made of black horn and set with small mother of pearl dots. Silver bolsters. Total length 12 ½ inches fully opened. Very good condition. Lightly damaged grip. The silver bolsters restored.
