Fine Georgian Qama with Twisted Steel Core - 10336

This fine Qama dagger is Georgian, mid to late 19 C. Its wide blade is structured from a twisted steel core, forge welded between high carbon steel edges. Blade length 14 inches, width 2 inches. Solid walrus handle with silver toped rivets with Niello decoration. Wood scabbard with leather cover and steel belt suspension band finely decorated with nielloed silver. Ivory tip. Total length 19 ½ inches. Very good condition. Light damaged area on the grip side, filled and painted. The leather cover is later. |
