This sword is a very rare variant of Yemenite sword, with a straight blade and a style following the early 13 - 14 C. Islamic sword. The blade is 17 C. or even earlier, of European origin. The handle and scabbard fittings are chased silver with spiral silver strip bound on the scabbard. Blade length 32 inches. Total 42 inches. Very good condition to age. The blade has seen some pitted spots which were cleaned long time ago, leaving very few small holes in the fuller. Minor loss to the silver locket on the back. Other dents on the silver mounts. The velvet cover is recent.
