Very Very Good Arab Sword - 6036


This is an Arabic Saber / Saif of very good plus quality. The blade is a 32 inches long with 9 inches back edge signed with a maker sign inlaid in gold. The hilt is composed of silver grips, silver cross-guard, grip strap and pommel, all in a typical Arab style and decoration. The cross guard is secured to the grip and bound with silver wire. The scabbard is leather covered wood mounted with engraved silver locket and chape, and stitched with the famous silver spiral binding. Very good condition allover. Blade with few minor and superficial pitted areas and minor nicks on the silver pieces. The tip of the chape is slightly damaged. All parts are original , no replacements or later repairs. The blade slides smoothly and fits perfectly into the scabbard. Old, probably early 19 C. piece, a prize to the serious collector. Price includes air mail shipment to the continental USA.
