This hide shield from India is made from Buffalo (?) hide covered with black leather, 19 inches in diameter and 3 inches in height with four engraved and pierced brass bosses. The inner side is painted red with a gold painted design around the perimeter. A gold English inscription on the inner side says: KHOO?H ??? NJEE & SONS, painters and Shield Makers, Dhalg ???a Street, City A?????ABAD . The original hand cushion in red fabric and leather handles is steel attached. The hide is slightly distorted from age and there are several slightly damaged spots. Very low price.
