Very Fine Moroccan Nimcha Sword with enamled Scabbard - 10191


From our private collection we offer for sale is this rare and very fine Nimcha sword from Morocco, employing a very good blade, 34 inches long richly decorated with gold. The handle is carved from a massive piece of rhino horn with clear fibrous structure set with engraved brass collar. The hilt guard and down curving quillons are steel also richly decorated with gold koftgari work. The scabbard is wood covered with the original green velvet and mounted with long silver locket and chape finely enameled in green and blue colors, so is the grip collar. Total length 40 inches. Very good condition. A very fine piece of quality from the late 19 C. 1880-1900.
