This is a very good matched pair of two Chinese heavy short swords. These types of pairs are sometimes related to the Boxer wars in the turn of the 20 C. but they are not necessarily so, although the dating to the early 1900’s is correct. Heavy, 14 mm thick blades with ridged spine, 20 inches long, 1 ½ inches wide. Brass hand guards with carved wood grips. Original heavy lether scabbard. Total length 24 inches. Very good condition. Minor blackened spots on the blades. Scabbard tip lightly damaged. A good interesting find.
