This fine heavy knife is a version of a Dah, probably Burma, early to mid 19 C. The heavy down curving blade is 8 inches long 8 mm thick, finely fullered, with a 4 1/2 inches false edge on the spine. The handle is finely carved from a massive single piece elephant ivory with a silver collar. Original wood scabbard covered with colored fabric and mounted with silver locket and chape. Total length 12 1/2 inches. Very good plus condition. Very good age patina on the ivory. Fine and impressive item.
