A small Dah knife from the Golden Triangle area bordering Thailand Burma and Laos. Good blade, well forged and lightly engraved, 5 1/2 inches long. Elephant ivory grip with rounded pommel and with silver collar. he scabbard is wood covered with silver with fine filigree decoration. Total length 9 inches. Very good condition. Very good age patina on the ivory with minimal hair thin age cracks but holds very solid. The Dah swords and knives with the top rounded pommel are usually attributed to the Lao people, compared to the ones with a flat pommel which are usually identified as Burmese.
