Assegai, stabbing Spear, Zulu (??) - 10099


The Assegai, stabbing spear of the Zulu, known for their efficient use as a hunting implement and as a weapon of war. 38 inches long with a 6 inches leaf shaped blade and 13 inches long steel tang, mounted on a 20 inches wood haft and secured in place by a hide strip binding the connecting point. The haft has a thickened end to ensure a good grip. Very good condition. Repaired hide binding. Good authentic early 20C. spear.
