We offer here for sale an old. mid 19 C. Sewar dagger / knife from central Sumatra. The Sewar is characterized by its heavy down curving blade, by the massive grip shape and specifically by the down extending protrusion from the scabbard mouth. Here the blade is 10 inches long, with a fuller below the spine and with fine chiseling on the bolster and base of the spine. The grip is solid horn finely carved on the pommel side. The scabbard s wood with a big horn mouth also with a finely carved protrusion and a horn tip. Total length in scabbard 14 inches. Very good condition. A fine piece of high quality.
