The Indian Sousson Pata Sword is characterized by the down curving blade, similar to the Turkish Yataghan blade, probably both share the same old father. This one has a heavy blade with a strong T spine, 28 inches long, forged from very fine wootz with high contrast pattern. The handle is a Tulwar style handle, whole steel, with D guard, lavishly decorated with good heavy gold koftgari work. Total length 31 inches. Very good condition. No scabbard. A very fine 19C. vintage sword.
