The exact origin of this Jambiya / Khanjar dagger is questionable, however and in spite of its similarity to the Arabic Sabik dagger, we believe that it is coming from Afghanistan. The Persian style wootz blade and the silver decoration suggest an Afghan attribution. A similar dagger is included in the Moser collection, Bern, Switzerland also with Afghan attribution. Fine Wootz blade of good contrast pattern (unfortunately somewhat pitted). Silver handle and scabbard. Blade length 8 inches. Total 13 inches. Very good condition. Nicked edge and pitted spots on the blade. Minor dents on the scabbard.
