This Karud knife is Indian, probably from North India, mid 19C. or about. The laminated steel blade is 7 1/2 inches long, with a strong T spine and silver decoration on the base. The handle is silver with finely ribbed with granulation work. Gilded silver bolster on copper base. The scabbard comes with its original red fabric and it is mounted with finely chase and pierced silver mounts. Total length 13 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Fabric cover worn. This Karud knife comes from our private collection. It has been with us for 20 years or about.
