This very fine Kilij sword (Also known as Pala in some places) is of outstanding blade quality: Persian made for the Turkish market, early to mid 19 C., forged from Wootz steel of dark color and high contrast pattern. Chiseled inscription on in Arabic letters and maker mark all decorated with gold koftgari work. Ivory grips. Blade 29 inches long 2 inches wide. Total length 34 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the gold work. One grip repaired. A rare sword.
