This fine Karud dagger is from Afghanistan. Late 18 to early 19 C. its very fine blade is forged from high quality wootz (Damascus, watered) steel, of high contrast clear dark pattern. Blade length 11 inches. The grips are cut axially from rhino horn (strong influence from Bukhara). The grip strap and bolsters are steel. Original leather covered scabbard with steel mounts. Total length 18 inches. All in very good plus condition. Very impressive dagger.
