The Shi people residing in east Zaire, near the Tanzania border. Carries this typical unique sword with straight, double edge blade, with pronounced central rib. This one is a very good exemplar. 19 inches slender blade 20 1/2 inches long. Hardwood handle and scabbard bound with braided rattan bands (one missing). Total length 28 inches. Very good condition. Scabbard seam slightly open. Reshaped hole for carrying thread. A very scarce sword.
