Very Good Sacrificial Kora Sword with Scabbard - 9837
Up for sale is this very good sacrificial Kora sword from Nepal, early to mid 19 C. The heavy down-curving blade is 22 inches long, widening to 7 ½ inches at the tip, marked with the talisman near the tip and armory dot marking at the base. The handle is all steel, cylindrical grip bound with thread and with disc pommel and cross guard. Original leather scabbard open at the top, closing buckles missing). Total length 28 inches. Very good condition. Blackened spots on the blade. Belt hanging loop is recent. This Kora comes from the collection of John Powell, SF, a world known collection of Nepalese and related weapons. |
