Up for sale is this very good “PIHA KAHETTA”, the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). Like the old classical examples it has a single edged short down curving heavy fullered blade, 8 inches long. The grips are beautifully carved from ivory with good age patina, set with chiseled and chased silver pommel cover. Total length is 11 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Very fine age patina on the blade. Minor losses and damage to the silver mounts on the handle. A fine piece in good condition and very reasonable price.
