This unusual knife / machete is from the Philippines, late 19 to early 20 C. Heavy blade with a straight blade and down curving spine, 17 inches long with 5 n1/2 inches false edge. Wood handle bound with braided and lacquered rattan bands. Open work scabbard made of braided rattan strips. Total length 22 inches. Very good condition. Age cracks on the handle but it holds very solid.
