Unusual Greek / Balkan (?) Knife with Flyssa Blade - 9770
This unusual knife is a fine example of cross cultural influence in the field of arms and armor. A North African Flyssa blade that somehow crossed the Mediterranean and mounted with Balkan, most probably Greek mounts. Mid to late 19 C. Heavy short Flyssa blade 10 1/2 inches long. Finely chased low silver alloy handle and scabbard in a classical Greek pattern. Total length 14 1/2 inches. Very good condition. |
