Fine Sikin Sword with Damascus Blade, Ache , Sumatra - 9686
This Sikin is one of the many variations of the Klewang, the Indonesian machete like sword. This one is probably Acheen from Sumatra, mid to Late 19th C. with a fine pattern welded (Damascus) blade, straight and single edge, 21 inches long with a 14 inches long fuller just below the spine. The steel bolster is forged in a polygonal shape and inlaid with gold decoration. The hilt is carved of horn in a typical forked pommel. Total length 27 inches. Very good condition. This sword come with its original wood scabbard with fine engraved decoration but unfortunately quite damaged (scabbard not shown) |
