Good early Madu Buckler / Parrying Shield India - 9627
We offer for sale this Madu Buckler / Parrying shield from India, a weapon favored by the Marathas, late 18 to early 19 C. It consist of a pair of Buck horns with sharpened tips, mounted in opposite direction on the back of a small steel buckler with four brass bosses. 29 inches tip to tip. 6 ½ inches diameter of central shield. A 2 1/2 inches spike is mounted in the center of the buckler. Good condition. Moderate pitting on the shield. Unusual weapon of interest. |
