Good, Early, Hooded Kattar Push Dagger - 9496
A very old version of the famous Indian Kattar (Katar) push dagger. A development stage between the Pata, the long gauntlet sword and the Kattar, the short push dagger. Very Early blade, 17 C. or earlier, multi fullered 12 inches long. It is riveted to a later 18 C. handle with two reinforcing plates. The handle is protected with a steel hood decorated along its edges and terminating in a styled monster head shaped tip. 19 inches total length. Good condition. Dents and cracks on the hood and side bars. Repair on the right side bar. |
