The Indian Sousson Pata Sword is characterized by the down curving blade, resembling the blade of the Turkish Yataghan sword. This one has a 31 inches long blade, forged from fine Indian Wootz (Crystalline) steel a clear pattern on the entire blade. The blade is marked with the Eyelashes mark, which was used in many countries and cultures as a mark of quality, and decorated around the quillons with a gold koftgari work of inscription in Arabic letters. . The handle is a Tulwar style handle, whole steel, of rather big dimensions and wide, 3 inches pommel disk. Total length 36 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Some minor losses to the gold decoration on the blade. |
