Early Military Issue Khukuri - 5935


The KHUKURI is the traditional weapon of the Gurkha people from NEPAL. It is an every day tool used for hunting, agriculture, defense and fighting, and every man in Nepal is proud to carry one for use and as a symbol of status. It derives its shape from the “KOPIS” the ancient Greek sword. This specific example is a very early military issue, un-marked with a long blade, 14 inches, stamped with the figure 45. Well forged and heavy blade. The hilt is carved of dark wood. Very Good condition. Minor blade knicks and wood chips. Original and authentic piece at a very attractive price.
