Fine Old Kard Knife, Central Asia - 9392
This is an early, probably 18 C. Kard knife from Central Asia, may be Bukhara. 9 inches single edge blade, most probably forged from laminated steel. Bolsters forged in one piece with the blade as common to central Asian similar knives. Finely carved ivory grips with birds animals and flowers. Newly made fabric covered scabbard. Total length 14 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Few blackened spots on the blade. Excellent dark age patina on the ivory grips. |
