Very Good and Unusual Badek / Badik Knife, Java, Indonesia - 9375
The Badek (or Badik) is a dagger / short sword from Java, Indonesia. It is characterized by its single edge blade with straight back and up-curving edge, and the pistol grip shape handle. This one has a very distinctive blade: 8 inches long with a hollow ground cross section, spear shaped tip and a 6 inches back, forged from good pamor steel. Fine quality grain wood handle. Black wood scabbard with a grained wood mouth, horn spacer and bone tip. Total length (in scabbard) 12 inches. Very good condition. |
