Up for sale is this fine barong sword, Moro, south Philippines, late 19 C. Heavy laminated blade 17 inches long, forged from good laminated steel. Wood grip bound with alternating bands of braided twisted silver wires and engraved silver bands and long silver collar. The long pommel is finely carved from black hardwood with bone inserts. Wood scabbard bound with rattan strips. Total length 24 inches. Very good condition. Minor damage to the lower tip of the pommel. A fine impressive item.
