This very rare sword comes from Oman, late 16 or early 17 C. Very wide 2 1/4 inches 24 1/2 inches long, most probably laminated and of European origin. Whole steel handle with Turban shaped pommel and down curving quillons. Early but probably later leather covered scabbard. Total length 32 inches. Very good condition to age. Tip of blade distorted and damaged. Handle with few age holes. Scabbard shrink and does not go all the way on the blade. A much rare and sought after sword.
