A small but very typical knife / dagger from Bukhara / Uzbekistan. This shape of knife is very common and many newly made Bukhara knives of the very same shape are available today. The 5 inch blade is forged from good quality wootz and the grips are cut from Rhino horn. The scabbard is mounted with heavy silver mounts with Niello decoration. Interesting to note that the Rhino horn grips are carved from an axial cut of the horn, thus the famous fibrous structure of the Rhino horn is seen axially. I have seen such way of cutting the rhino horn for knives grips only on Bukhara knives
