Rare 18 C. Pata Gauntlet Sword, India - 9314
The Pata Indian gauntlet Sword that was evolved from the Kattar push dagger and was in use during several centuries in India.
This one is probably late 18 to early 19C, with 33 inches double edge blade. The hand gauntlet is made of brass shaped like a beast head (Big cat ??) holding the blade in its mouth. Bone inner handle. Total length 44 inches. Excellent condition. Very good untouched shining age patina on the blade. No scabbard. A rare unique and impressive item. |
