This sword, one of the many variants of the Java Parang, is most probably 19 C. Very nicely laminated blade, narrow and 23 1/2 inches long. Very finely carved horn handle in the shape of a mythological beast head. Wood scabbard black lacquered and bound with silver and braided rattan bands. Total length 28 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Minor edge nicks.
