Good Heavy Naga Sword Dao with laminated Blade - 9192


The Naga people of Assam (North-East India) and The Kachin people of Myanmar (Burma) uses this very efficient sword / cleaver. It has a very heavy blade, widening to maximum width at its very top. This one is a classical example. Deadly sharp beveled blade, 21 inches long and almost 3 inch wide at its tip. The steel is a folded lamination structure known also as hairpin forging, similar to Tibetan swords. Wood handle bound with black lacquered fibers and mounted with a faceted brass collar. A bone mounted pommel plate. Total length 26 inches. Very good condition. Minor damage to the fiber binding. No scabbard. A good authentic real fighting sword.
